Harbour House

  • January 15, 2012

It was great fun to work on this project with Waddell Media!

Harbour House in the heart of Courttown, County Wexford was a real labour of love for the clients. The aim here was for me to give it a facelift which wouldn’t cost a fortune, but would revamp the appearance of the building and make it even more inviting to visitors…

I changed the accent colour of the pointing on the house from black to a soft grey.
I installed window shutters and a much more flattering and effective front door entrance. I advised on the plants/pots etc for the exterior…

All of these modifications gave it an East Coast American/Hamptons feel, which works very well in the coastal environment of the area.

The Hall, stairs and landing were transformed by hanging a fabulous wallcovering which is also extremely hardwearing. I put Anaglypta below the dado/chair rail to restore the period feel to the building. The carpeting was replaced and the lighting fixtures too.

A complete decluttering was required. The owners were so enthuasiatic and really embraced the changes…

I recomended new paint colours everywhere, new bed linens and artwork to complete the transormation.
